Pawthcurno Doggy Weekend

Doggy Museum Takeover

Join the Telegraph Museum Porthcurno to celebrate all things canine.
Bring your furry besties for a doggy picnic, charity stalls and paw-some fun.

Charity stalls

Over two days we will be welcoming Spanish Stray Dogs, Street Vet Cornwall and the National Animal Welfare Trust who will be providing information on the valuable work of their charities. You can find more information about each of the charities below.

Pre-order Picnics

Our café will be creating special picnics for pre-order including human treats and home-baked treats for your fur baby. We also welcome anyone wanting to bring their own picnic for a 1pm group sitting on the Saturday and Sunday. Picnic in our beautiful sub-tropical gardens, weather permitting, or join us in the Clore Learning space.

Dog-Friendly Map

Porthcurno valley offers wonderful walks for all abilities. You can pick up a dog-friendly map of our site or download a copy here. We will be opening our main Eastern House galleries to canine companions and their humans. The only restricted areas are the indoor part of our café and our World War 2 Tunnels.

Welcoming:

Street Vet Cornwall Saturday

Homelessness is a growing problem in the UK and an increasing number of homeless people have dogs. The bond between many homeless people and their dogs is profound and the health and wellbeing of their canine companions is often a major priority for their owners. Qualified vets and veterinary nurses support those in need and StreetVet is changing the future for homeless dogs with the care they need and deserve.

Cornwall National Animal Welfare Trust Saturday

We are a rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming centre dedicated to helping the homeless animals of Cornwall. We provide support for families relinquishing their animals or coping with pet loss and bereavement. We aim to promote responsible pet ownership through educational schemes and by working closely with the local community. We are a self-funded charity who never stops caring.

Spanish Stray Dogs Sunday

We search for kind, caring, patient forever families in the UK to adopt Spanish Stray dogs that have been rescued from the streets of Spain. Our dogs have mostly known sadness, cruelty and have only known a life of neglect and abuse. Since 2012 we have helped hundreds of Spanish Stray Dogs find forever homes in the UK.
