Meet the team behind the PK150 Connected Collections project

PK150 Connected Collections is an international project to enable remote access to the PK archive and to explore it from new perspectives. It is part of a larger project to create a searchable online database for the PK Porthcurno website.

Our 2021 Citizen Curators were paired with International Student Volunteers based in locations associated with telegraphy as part of the PK150 project. Each pair chose very different angles to explore within the PK Archive. Their research culminated in a highly successful Symposium that provided the platform to share their work and research. The event reached out and connected attendees located in continents across the globe

You can find a recording of the Symposium by clicking here if you’ve missed it.

As a final piece to the project, the students were filmed discussing their research, what it meant to them to be involved with PK150, and how access to the PK Archive inspired them. Hear also from our Archive Research Facilitator, Alice Howard, who managed this project, and Anwar Akhtar of thesamosa.co.uk, who provided guidance to the students throughout the project.
