In partnership with Ofcom, the UK’s communications regulator, this hands-on family workshop explores how messages were shared in the past — and how they still influence us today.
Discover the printing press and the role of propaganda, then get creative using simple printmaking techniques inspired by traditional letterpress. Families will design and print bold, colourful posters with positive messages, taking home their own creations.
This playful session encourages creativity, curiosity, and conversation, helping children and grown-ups alike think about how words and images can shape ideas.

You’ve been recruited by Earnest Smellingway, our trusty bloodhound with a nose for fake news! He’s heard that a flock of messenger pigeons has escaped into the museum — and some have gone rogue, spreading fake news.
Your mission is to track down the pigeons, read the news they’re sharing, and decide whether it’s fact or fake so Earnest can stop them in their tracks.
🕵️♀️ Younger detectives can simply tick off each pigeon as they find them.
