The Escape Stairs have Reopened!
Due to swallows nesting in our escape stairs, the museum tunnels have been closed to the public. We’re happy to update you that the brood has left the nest and the Escape Stairs have reopened. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused during your visit.

We have temporarily closed our escape stairs in the museum tunnels to the public. We have swallows nesting there who are currently raising their young. Swallow chicks leave the nest around 18 to 23 days after hatching, so just a few weeks before we can reopen them again. We apologise for any inconvenience this may
