Planet PK Champions and the Wood Wide Web

Planet PK Champions and the Wood Wide Web

Planet PK Champions is our environmental club, a part of our award-winning programme Planet PK which aims to promote awareness and knowledge about climate change.

We are looking for more members to join our club and become our ‘Planet PK Champions’- leaders in our environmental programme by learning about and spreading positive climate messages.

Planet PK Champions is free to join, and sessions are held regularly during term times on a Saturday morning. Each session focuses on a different theme using art and science to engage with nature.

Members Pack

What you’ll receive

Regular club members will receive a member’s pack containing the following:

Each session we will create a fun fact sheet about the topic we cover which you can take home and keep safe in your ring binder.

The passport has space for six animal footprint stamps, get all six stamps and receive a prize!

Wood Wide Web

In March we explored the amazing wonders of the Wood Wide Web. The session was well attended and the group made a variety of mushrooms and toadstools out of recycled materials. These creations were all linked together with a cord to create a mycelium network installation in our Clore Learning Space. We think that you’ll agree it looks great!

Planet PK vs Plastics

Our next Planet PK Champions ‘Planet PK vs Plastics’ is on Saturday 20 April. Something fishy is going on with our everyday single-use plastics, so next month we’ll be getting creative and giving plastic bags a second life.

Our Planet PK Champions activity will run at the usual time of 10:30-12 am in the Clore Learning Space. Please bring a clean plastic bag from home to recycle into something new.

Making a positive change

We hope that our Planet PK Champions will continue to use what they have learned to imagine and help create a positive environmental future for all.
