Marine Awareness Day with British Divers Marine Life Rescue
Museum Takeover Day
Telegraph Museum Porthcurno has teamed up with the British Divers Marine Life Rescue to raise awareness for the protection of marine wildlife. The BDMLR will be ‘taking over’ the museum both onsite and online, with information about the charity’s work. They will also be showcasing the different ways members of the public can get involved to support marine wildlife preservation.
Rescue Demonstrations
One of the roles of the charity is to register and train specialised volunteers called mammal medics to attend stranded or injured animals on beaches across the UK. Volunteers will be on based at the museum’s own Clore Learning Space and you can watch or take part in a practice dolphin rescue at 2 pm.
British Divers Marine Life Rescue
The voluntary marine charity celebrated their 30th year in 2018 and their teams are on call 24hrs a day throughout the year. Learn about the charity’s work helping sick and injured seals and find out more about the ways you can make a difference to the amazing wildlife sharing our beautiful coastline.
Clore Learning Space
Free for all to visit, you’ll find the BDMLR team at the bottom of our site, at our Clore Learning Space, next to the disabled parking in the museum’s carpark. Summer parking charges apply to all visitors, but access to the event is free.
