150 for the 150th

This week, the museum’s YouTube channel reached the significant milestone of 150 subscribers to time for the 150th anniversary of the final splice (8th June, 1870) of the Cable to India!

Our Digital Collections Officer, who looks after the YouTube channel, says: ‘Anyone who has nurtured a YouTube channel will tell you building up to the first 100 subscribers is no easy task, and it’s true.  That took a full year.  But we set ourselves the goal of reaching 150 in time for the 150th anniversary, and we are very pleased to have managed it on time!  Thank you to all who have subscribed!’
