Join us in Penzance for a mix of our art and science-based workshops in The Engine Room.

Mechanical Messengers: Cardboard Automata
Join PK’s resident artist Mae Voogd for a fun, hands-on creative engineering workshop, exploring cranks and levers as you build your very own Flying Messenger Pigeon automaton. Watch it come to life, then write a secret message scroll for it to carry.

Designer Bot: Build a Robot!
HELP, the internet needs you!
Build and design your own seabed robot, built to protect the world’s communication cables. Learn how to automate it and discover how the internet really works, led by PK Porthcurno’s science expert, Paul Tyreman.

More Than words: Tunnel Books
Ever wanted to step inside a story? In this workshop you can build your very own Tunnel Book – a magical, layered paper world. Explore paper engineering, hidden layers and lots of imagination with PK Porthcurno’s resident artist Mae Voogd.

Puppet Lab
A fun, hands-on workshop exploring communication through puppetry, led by PK Porthcurno’s puppet maker and resident artist, Mae Voogd. Inspired by objects from the Museum of Global Communications, you’ll create your own unique puppet using recycled materials.
