Description

PK Tea Towels (choice of three designs)

Choose from one of three designs:

  • The Great Circle Map: Displaying the iconic Great Circle Map in full colour detail, this quality tea towel is 100% cotton. Created by Macdonald Gill, The Great Circle Map dates from 1945. The map shows the British Empire’s telegraph cable and wireless networks around the world at the time. The red lines represent telegraph cables and the dashed lines are radio links.
  • Cornish Cable Landings Map: Lurking in the archives we found a charmingly old-school map showing the various cable landings in relation to Cornwall circa 1904. Here it is printed in black and white on a Big T white 100% cotton tea towel.
  • Cable Patrol: A vibrant and colourful design taken from an issue of The Zodiac magazine from November 1935. The Zodiac magazine was published by the Eastern Telegraph Company for their staff. The painting is by an artist called John E. Grant. Sadly, we have been unable to find much information about him, but we loved this image so much we felt it needed to be celebrated in tea towel-form.
